Churchill Recruitment

The Sex Discrimination Act (SDA) came into force in 1975. The Equal Pay Act (EPA) took effect in 1975. Each act has been amended a number of time since they came into force. The SDA makes it unlawful to discriminate on the grounds of sex and the EPA says women must be paid the same as men when they are doing equal work and vice-versa.

The Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) was created by Parliament in 1976, and Churchill Recruitment adheres to the EOC's Code of Practice on sex discrimination in its approach to both internal recruitment and the provision of services to its clients.

In addition to meeting the requirements of the legislation it is now widely recognised that the traditional mid-20th Century lifestyle – sole breadwinner men, with stay-at-home wives is now a ‘thing of the past’ and the way we work is changing rapidly.

Comprehensive information and guidance on all aspects of equal opportunities can be found on the EOC website.
