Reception wall neon-style quote

Creative intent

A creative agency wanted a large handwritten manifesto line behind the welcome desk—readable at three meters but still feeling personal at arm’s length. The wall included acoustic panels; illumination had to avoid overheating the fabric zones and respect shallow cavity depth behind the lettering route.

Fabrication

We used a silicone-jacketed LED neon line on a painted acrylic backer with standoffs creating a soft halo on the textured paint. Stroke transitions were hand-shaped in the shop; sharp corners received larger bend radii than the logo file suggested so light stayed even. The power supply hides in a millwork niche with ventilation slots coordinated with the joinery shop.

Visitor experience

Dimming follows office hours: full output during business day, 40% after hours for security and cleaning crews. The piece became the default backdrop for client video calls and portfolio shoots; we provided a short guide on camera exposure so skin tones stay natural against the glow.

Outcomes

Social tags referencing the wall increased measurably in the quarter after install. No acoustic performance regression was reported in the adjacent meeting rooms. Maintenance is annual dusting with a microfiber wand on an articulated pole.

Production time: 5 days including on-wall tuning.
